Participants of the Innovative Apparel Show 2015: Hochschule Niederrhein
The Textile and Clothing Technology Faculty of Hochschule Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences is one of four universities and fashion schools from Germany and Switzerland that are taking part in the Innovative Apparel Show. This new event at Techtextil / Texprocess 2015 presents designs by young fashion students, which are made of technical textiles using the latest processing technologies.
The designs of Hochschule Niederrhein to be shown during the live show on the
catwalk in the foyer of Halls 5.1 / 6.1 include a dress from a project entitled ‘Smart Bionics – Haute Tech for fashion + automotive interior design’ by Lara Leetz. Nature is the source of inspiration for Haute Tech, a work that simulates fish scales and bionic structures with their mechanical properties on technical textiles. That ultra-sound welding can be a creative technology is shown by a Theresa Brinkmann’s work. Fading Crystals 1 uses a kind of ‘green polyester’ as warp and weft knitted fabrics, which is completely sustainable. One of the elements in the ‘The four elements’ project is a motorcycle suit, which stands for ‘fire’. A dress with voluminous elements stands for ‘air’ and illustrates the need for the element ‘air’ as a prerequisite for volume.
These and other creative works by students of Hochschule Niederrhein can be seen at the Innovative Apparel Show area in Hall 6.1 and on the catwalk in the foyer of Halls 5.1 / 6.1.
