Inspiring textiles and processing technologies: Our new “Innovative Apparel Show “

Today, we are happy to announce a new show. Under the motto “Textiles live on stage”, our first ‘Innovative Apparel Show’ will present new textiles and processing technologies. In the Foyer of Hall 5.1/6.1, as well as in Hall 6.1, four universities and fashion schools will show their, as the think, pioneering designs.

The ‘Innovative Apparel Show’ combines two items on the programme into one event. First of all there is a moderated live walk across the catwalk in the foyer of Hall 5.1/6.1. The universities and fashion schools will then explain the methods of processing as well as the materials used.

Four universities and fashion schools will be taking part in the ‘Innovative Apparel Show’:

◾the Frankfurt School of Clothing and Fashion Design (Frankfurter Schule für Bekleidung und Mode)

◾the Lower-Rhine University of Applied Sciences (Department of Textile and Clothing Technology) Hochschule Niederrhein (Abteilung Textil- und Bekleidungstechnik)

◾Lucerne University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Luzern)

◾Zwickau University in Western Saxony (Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau)

All in all, the event, which takes about half an hour, will be held seven times: on 4, 5 and 6 May 2015: at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and on 7 May 2015 at 11 a.m.

The moderation and choreography, which will be held in English, will be the responsibility of South-African show producer Kevin Oakes.

Special Show
For the entire duration of the fair, a Special Show in the new Hall 6.1 will present the items of apparel created by the schools. The area is located close to leading exhibitors of functional apparel textiles and divided up into three clear themes: ‘High-Tech Fashion’, ‘Creative Processing’ and ‘Functional Materials’. All visitors may vote for the public award.

We are looking very much forward to the show. Beginning in March, we will be showing you some video footage of the produced designs. Stay tuned!
